The World Bank Group has prepared a new Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for Uzbekistan for fiscal years 2016-2020. The objective of this online consultation was to seek broader feedback and comments from interested parties, locally and internationally, on the presentation of the CPF concept. The CPF was discussed by the Board on June 14, 2016.

The World Bank Group (WBG) held consultations with key stakeholders to prepare the 2016-2020 Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for Uzbekistan. The CPF formulates WBG's support to Uzbekistan in its efforts to become an industrialized middle-income country by 2030.
The strategic goal of Uzbekistan is to become an industrialized middle-income country while maintaining domestic social equitability through global competitiveness, industrial modernization and diversification, private sector development, and improved corporate governance. The CPF builds upon the long term strategic priorities of the country and short- to medium-term needs in the face of regional and global challenges.
The CPF derives from the World Bank Group's Systematic Country Diagnostic (SCD) for Uzbekistan and aligns its objectives with challenges and priorities that the SCD identifies. It also aligns its objectives with Uzbekistan's national strategies. Following the findings and recommendations of the SCD, the CPF program will selectively address a set of challenges defined by the SCD in the areas of governance, human capital and connectivity, in order to support the country in sustaining economic, environmental and social progress made by Uzbekistan in eliminating extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity.
The CPF consultations process started in September 2015 with strategic discussion of development priorities and challenges of the country with the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
This online consultation period is now closed. It was open from Tuesday October 6, 2015, to Tuesday November 3, 2015.

The objective of this online consultation was to seek broader feedback and comments from all interested parties, locally and internationally, on the presentation of the CPF concept. We requested views from various groups and individuals to adjust the CPF closer to the country’s development goals and provide support in a more targeted and effective way.
During October 2015, the WBG conducted face-to-face consultations in several regions of the country in accordance with the schedule.
