Chad: Country Partnership Framework
National Consultations on Phase 1 Closed on December 4th, 2014
From December 3rd to 4th, 2014, The World Bank Group held public consultations to help identify the key challenges and opportunities for accelerating progress towards eliminating extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity in Chad. A series of meetings took place in N’Djamena with different key stakeholders, including the government, the parliament, civil society, the private sector, and development partners.
These consultations are part of Phase 1 ("Systematic Country Diagnostic - SCD") of the preparation process for the new World Bank Group strategy for Chad, which consisted mainly in seeking participants' views on Chad's key development challenges and opportunities that need to be taken into consideration to accelerate development and put an end to poverty.
The SCD team has received important contributions (through meetings and online exchanges) from all stakeholders consulted and is now in the process of analyzing them. A report is being finalized and will be published on this website.
The PowerPoint presentations that guided the various meetings as well as press reports are also available for consultation online (in French) under "MATERIALS" and "RELATED" in the sidebar column on the right.
The World Bank Group expresses its sincere thanks to all those who contributed to the first phase of this ongoing strategy preparation process.
- Public Consultations:December 03, 2014 to December 04, 2014
The Systematic Country Diagnostic (SCD) is a key reference point on priorities for WBG engagement in Chad. It will identify key challenges and opportunities for ending extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity. The SCD for Chad is expected to be ready by the end of January 2015.
The Country Partnership Framework (CPF) is a partnership plan and the main tool guiding the WBG's support for Chad's development program. It starts from the country's own development goals, and it is built around widespread consultations and engagement with all stakeholders.
