Ongoing dialogue between the World Bank Group and stakeholders—government, civil society, media, academia, the private sector and others—is a critical aspect of our work. Tapping into a broad range of perspectives strengthens the outcomes and accountability of our engagement and helps build enduring partnerships. It is through this dialogue that we can help implement more effective solutions to local, regional and global development challenges. This website is a platform to inform and consult with interested and affected parties on select areas of our work, such as new policies or changes to regulations, Country Partnership Strategies, and global thematic studies and programs. Below is a list of consultations currently being held in various countries on different topics. Additional consultations may take place through face-to-face engagements and other digital channels.

Modernizing the Bank's operational policy on Guarantees

The new World Bank's Operational Policy Framework on Guarantees went into effect July 1, 2014. Guarantees are now available as a form of financing – alongside grants, credits, and loans – in Development Policy (DPL) and Investment Project Financing (IPF) operations.

Enhancing the World Bank’s Operational Policy Framework on Guarantees

A set of policy changes to enhance and modernize the World Bank’s operational policy framework on guarantees was approved by the World Bank's Board of Executive Directors in early December 2012. The reform aims to facilitate the use of guarantees to help the Bank leverage financial resources by mobilizing private sector financing for IBRD and IDA member clients.

The policy changes build upon the Approach Paper on Modernizing the World Bank's Operation Policy on Guarantees discussion with CODE on October 26, 2011, and also incorporates feedback received during face-to-face and web-based consultations held since March 2012 with relevant parties on three continents, including with lenders and investors, governments and donor agencies, bilateral and multilateral development partners, and non-governmental organizations.

The new World Bank's Operational Policy Framework on Guarantees goes into effect July 1, 2014. Guarantees will then be available as a form of financing – alongside grants, credits, and loans – in Development Policy (DPL) and Investment Project Financing (IPF) operations.
