The World Bank Group is Seeking Your Input on Its Strategy for Burundi

The World Bank Group is preparing a Country Partnership Strategy to guide its support to Burundi's development. We would like to hear your views on Burundi's future and the role that the World Bank Group can play in helping the country achieve its economic goals.

The first phase of stakeholder consultations consists of the Systematic Country Diagnostic (SCD), which is expected to stimulate an open and forward-looking dialogue between the World Bank Group and the country.

To inform the strategy, the World Bank is consulting with Burundi’s stakeholders and diaspora through in-person discussions and online feedback to collect their views on the country's development agenda and how best the Bank can help Burundi seize new opportunities and meet its development challenges.

The online consultation period is open from Monday, January 8, 2017 to Thursday, February 16, 2017..

Please share your views on the following topics:

  • In which three priority areas should the World Bank focus its attention and resources in the next five years in order to reduce poverty and promote shared prosperity?
  • With which groups (for example civil society organizations, private sector, youth) should the World Bank work more closely in order to improve development outcomes in Burundi?
  • Which policies or investments would best help the country create more employment opportunities and boost productivity for Burundi’s poorest?
