Ongoing dialogue between the World Bank Group and stakeholders—government, civil society, media, academia and the private sector—is a critical aspect of our work. Tapping into a broad range of perspectives strengthens the outcomes and accountability of our engagement and helps build enduring partnerships. It is through this dialogue that we can help implement more effective solutions to local, regional and global development challenges. This website is a platform to inform and consult with interested and affected parties on select areas of our work, such as new policies or changes to regulations, Country Partnership Strategies, and global thematic studies and programs. Below is a list of consultations currently being held in various countries on different topics. Additional consultations may take place through face-to-face engagements and other digital channels.

Let your voice be heard!

In your view, what are the critical areas where the World Bank Group support would have the biggest impact in promoting sustainable poverty reduction and shared prosperity?

The first round of engagements to gather feedback on key opportunities and challenges to ending poverty and boosting shared prosperity in Mongolia as well as potential WBG support areas was organized in August–October 2017. More than 400 stakeholders from government, Parliament, development partners, civil society organizations and private sector in Ulaanbaatar and 4 regions shared their views through face-to-face meetings and online surveys. The analytical document on Mongolia’s development challenges and opportunities in which the feedback from previous round of engagement was considered is available at here.

The preparation of the new strategy will be informed by the conclusions of this diagnostic, feedback from the stakeholders received during the engagement meetings and online consultations, Mongolia’s development strategy, as well as analytical studies produced by the World Bank.
On the basis of all the above documents and engagements, we have identified the following focus areas of intervention: Improving Governance; Increasing Competitiveness; Strengthening Human Development and Resilience.

What do you think?

Here are a few questions to get the deliberations rolling:

1. In your view, what should the principal objective of the World Bank’s strategy in Mongolia be for the next five years?
2. Do you think that the areas of engagement identified by the World Bank are appropriate? If not, what three principal development priorities would you propose?
3. What are the main risks that are likely to impede the implementation of the World Bank’s support in Mongolia?
4. Are there areas where you think the WBG should not engage in Mongolia?

We Want to Hear From You

As part of your contribution to the future development of your country, you are invited to share your views on the questions posed above or on any other issue that you might consider more appropriate.

Please send your suggestions or comments by email to wbmongolia@worldbank.org. These consultations will continue online until February 28, 2019.

We will publish a summary of the results of these consultations on this website once they are completed.

For more information, please consult background documents, SCD and summary of the CPF available in the ‘Documents and Links’ section of this website.
