Ongoing dialogue between the World Bank Group and stakeholders—government, civil society, media, academia and the private sector—is a critical aspect of our work. Tapping into a broad range of perspectives strengthens the outcomes and accountability of our engagement and helps build enduring partnerships. It is through this dialogue that we can help implement more effective solutions to local, regional and global development challenges. This website is a platform to inform and consult with interested and affected parties on select areas of our work, such as new policies or changes to regulations, Country Partnership Strategies, and global thematic studies and programs. Below is a list of consultations currently being held in various countries on different topics. Additional consultations may take place through face-to-face engagements and other digital channels. World Bank Myanmar Country Partnership Framework (2019-2023) Consultations

The World Bank Group (WBG) and the Government of Myanmar are developing a new Country Partnership Framework (CPF) which will outline the WBG’s support for Myanmar’s development over the next four years (fiscal years 2019 to 2023). The CPF is intended to align with the national development priorities identified in the Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan and focus on areas that will have the greatest impact on eliminating poverty and promoting prosperity for all in Myanmar.

Objective

The objective of these consultations is to seek the views of a wide range of stakeholder groups on Myanmar’s key development challenges and the areas where the WBG should concentrate its support, so that this support has the greatest possible impact in promoting inclusion, sustainable poverty reduction, and shared prosperity in Myanmar.

Consultation Format

Depending on the location, the format of consultations will either be single- or multi-stakeholder. The events will take place in locations that provide accessibility for people with disabilities.

To enable participation by a wide range of stakeholders, the consultations will include face-to-face meetings and an online survey. The face-to-face meetings will include a mix of plenary and small group presentations and discussions. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided. An online consultation platform will be made available to interested stakeholders on the WBG consultation hub. Interested stakeholders can access background materials and the consultation survey questionnaire.

Other written input/feedback may also be provided by email to myanmarcpf@worldbankgroup.org or by mail to the WBG Office in Yangon: ATTN: Tin Hninn Yu  (CPF Consultations), Level 21, Sule Square, 221, Sule Pagoda Road, Kyauktada Township, Yangon 11182, Myanmar.

After the consultation meetings have concluded, a summary matrix of comments will be prepared noting feedback/input that has been incorporated into the draft CPF. In cases where feedback/input cannot be incorporated, an explanation will be provided. This summary matrix will be posted on the consultation website.
