Systematic Country Diagnostic in the Philippines

The Systematic Country Diagnostic (SCD) is an analytical report that seeks to identify the key development opportunities, challenges, and priorities of the Philippines as it works toward ending extreme poverty and fostering shared prosperity. Public engagements and consultations with key stakeholders are an important part of the SCD process. A series of public engagements will be organized from May to June 2019 for the SCD, followed closely by joint consultations events for the World Bank Group’s (WBG) Country Partnership Framework (CPF).

The Engagement Process

A first phase of the engagement process for the SCD began in late 2018 through small meetings with government agencies, academe, policy institutions, and CSOs. Results of these meetings were used to inform the draft report. The second phase of the consultation process will involve presenting stakeholders with the main findings of the draft report and seeking feedback and comment on the main opportunities and constraints identified. Soliciting comments from government, civil society, academe, and the general public will include both face-to-face meetings as well as online and social media-based mechanisms for sending feedback. The goal is to enable participation by a wide range of stakeholders.

This web page includes background materials, discussion boards where comments can be sent, information about different channels to send feedback, reports of consultation activities, and online surveys that interested stakeholders can use to provide their input.

Aside from participation in the face-to-face meetings and consultation events, all stakeholders are invited to send their feedback and input by email to the World Bank office in Manila, comphilippines@worldbank.org, or by mail to World Bank Philippines, 26th Floor, One Global Place 5th Ave. corner 25th St. Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Philippines 1634.
