Consultations on the World Bank Gender Strategy 2024-2030: Accelerate Gender Equality for a Sustainable, Resilient, and Inclusive Future

The World Bank formal consultation process is now closed.

Thank you to those who shared their expertise and experience. Inputs were received from over 1,000 stakeholders from over 100 countries, representing more than 600 entities including civil society, government representatives, parliamentarians, academia, private sector, multilateral organizations, donors, and others. The feedback will inform and enrich the final Gender Strategy and its implementation.

The consultation process involved country consultation missions in all regions the WBG works in, an online survey, targeted in-person and virtual meetings, and engagement in global fora with a wide range of stakeholders.

The World Bank Group Gender Strategy 2024-2030 will be launched in early 2024. Thank you for your continued engagement. Watch this space for updates.

The proposed Gender Strategy 2024-30 puts forward the bold ambition to accelerate gender equality for a sustainable, resilient, and inclusive future in alignment with the World Bank Evolution Roadmap. The Strategy responds to the global urgency, fundamentality, and complexity of achieving gender equality.

The proposed Gender Strategy 2024-30 emphasizes innovation, financing, and collective action to end gender-based violence, elevate human capital, expand and enable economic opportunities, and engage women as leaders.

Building on the implementation of the Gender Strategy 2016-23, the new Strategy proposes to engage with greater ambition and differently – approaching gender equality for all as essential for peaceful, prosperous and livable world.
